Like Mama's home cooking!! Great staff.

Yesterday was our first experience at McDonnell's and it certainly won't be our last. Really, really good. Friendly staff, great breakfast and old school decor. Put it this way. If I'm within 10 miles of Carbondale, this is my new go-to breakfast spot. Highly recommend

Nice quiet good food

I liked the BLT and fries I got. My sister wasn't a fan of the wings as they were dry rub and not "messy enough". Their Cole slaw had pineapple in it, so just a heads up on that. It was pretty good, either way, and definitely would go back again.

Good food but prices are high

As always, just a wonderful place to eat. Doesn't matter the meal, the time of day or the day of the week, you always know that you will leave full and satisfied. The staff is great as well.

This is a great old-fashioned Diner. The booths are all antique there's even a soda counter you can sit at with the revolving stools. You will get diner food here but they make the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich I've ever had. If you're in Carbondale Pennsylvania stop in sometime you won't be disappointed.

Good food at reasonable prices. I had the hot dog Reuben, most others had burgers. Great service, interesting atmosphere.

Great old fashion place for comfort food

What a cute place! Love the decor inside the place! Great food, great atmosphere, great workers! Kind of has a diner feel - but the place is huge inside. Yeah it's a tad bit crowded at times - but if you go at the right time, you can avoid all the hustle and bustle. The food is amazing here - whether you order breakfast, lunch or dinner. I usually get the burgers and boy, they are good! Definitely made to order, and the waitress is always running by to make sure everything is going well. My son and I love coming here at least once a month - love looking at all the decor around us, and we just have a very nice family experience here. Beautiful place for families or groups or solo people to go!

Food was a tad salty, though good. Service was unexpectedly quick and friendly.

I liked the old country feel and all the collectables all around. The food was okay it wasn't out of this world or the rating would be higher. The food is kind of bland but decent price and plate filled. Alot of things not on the menu that would make this truly a old country style place..for example no sausage and gravy, SOS, scrapple and apple butter, Pastie or many other things. It is a relaxed atmosphere and you won't feel rushed and wait staff are fantastic and make you laugh and treat you like you are a regular and a friend.

My boyfriend and I brought our son here! Friendly staff and tasty food! Super cool country style decorations! Love it! We have been there twice already and would def return!

Food was great, waitress was very friendly and fast. We were able to get in and out in 30 minutes, but never fealt rushed at all.

This is a quaint mom and pop type restaurant that serves wholesome and fresh food. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is very tasty. The zucchini fries are amazing not to mention the dinners taste as if they are home cooked by someone's grandmother. I highly recommend dining here when visiting Carbondale.

Decent prices.good food very friendly service

Took my crew there for lunch. 6 of us. Service was excellent. Food didn't match the hype. Had a variety of the dinners on the menu. All of the dinners were bland. No seasoning at all. The center cut pork chops were super thin and dry. The fried chicken was tiny. The Spaghetti and sauce had no flavor at all. The sides left very little to be desired. However the water and soda was cold and the pies were excellent. Wont go back. The quantity and quality did not match the high amount of money we paid. Too bad. Was excited to try this place when we got here.

Patty Melt was delicious. The fries with gravy and cheese is a real treat, and don't forget to try the pies....both the coconut cream and peanut butter cream were outstanding.

Food was just awful. Cheap, frozen, premade foods, turkey dinner was simple lunch meat. Spaghetti was cheap Marinara sauce. Barely edible

Fun family environment, home cooked food. This has been a family traditon and favorite for generations. We currently take our daughter every Sunday for breakfast with her great grandfather. You feel like part of the McDonnells family

Good food great price and friendly staff

I've been to this place twice and it's really a great restaurant for the whole family! The food here is wonderful, made to order, and reasonably priced. The staff (waitresses) are wonderful people, always with a smile on their faces, and they are very attentive to your needs. Their burgers are amazing here - nice and big, and juicy!
